The sun has finally risen in the wizarding world. It's the dawn of a new age. Shouts of praise and thanks goes out the heroes that fought in the 'Final Battle', coming out with only their lives, and those who had lost there‘s. One hero stands taller than the rest, the Boy-Who-Lived, defeated Voldemort and sent his followers, the Death Eaters, into hiding, or what was left of them.
But what will happen next? Many have been killed, family’s had been ripped apart, and the Ministry of Magic is in utter corruption. With the elected Kingsley Shacklebolt as minister, surely the weeds will be plucked and a new Ministry will rise through the ashes. A newly devised organization, created in the wake of the post-war efforts, United Witched and Wizards (UWW), was created to restore order and peace throughout the wizarding world. Posters will be plastered around the wizarding towns and speeches will be made to it’s cause, compelling you, hopefully, to join in and help rebuild the wizarding world.
Hogwarts must be rebuilt, a new headmaster found, and order also restored once again to the ancient school. Join in the madness and confusion--help restore the wizarding world and find new friends that will help achieve greatness. Join it all at Luminosus Miraculum!

Pushing a stray, wavy lock of brown behind her ear, Maia stepped out the third fireplace to the left, in the Atrium, coughing and trying to shake off the ash on her silver boots and light cloak. The Atrium was already busy with witches and wizards, even though usually, most Ministry employees didn't come in until eight thirty or nine.
However, there had been plenty of early arrivals in the past few days. Everyone was frantic and busy, organizing memorials, holding trials (there were plenty of alleged Death Eaters to be attended to, though lots had been killed), squaring away UWW preparations, plus normal work. It did look as though there was a large trial today--almost the entire wizengamot was here today, and a couple (human) Azkaban guards were buying butterbeer from some kid by the entrance.
Maia was here early this morning to set up six new prophecy records, the Ministry had been pretty far behind on this in the past few months, while they had been under imperius and threat by You-Know-Who. Most of the other Unspeakables had been under the imperius curse, feeding He WHo Must Not Be Named information on the secrets behind the veil of death, and information on prophecies. Somehow Maia had manged to avoid this.
She worked in creating the glowing crystal prophecy records, finding out when prophecies had been made, and researching the singificance of them, how they were carried out, and what they really were.
But anyway, Maia nodded hello to her fellow employees as she passed them, stopping before entering the lift to summon (from hime) her (once again) forgotten lunch, and two bottles of drinks--one firewhisky, one butterbeer. Once they had zoomed into her large tote bag, and two elevators had gone, Maia stepped onto the closest one and stood amongst ten or som others in this overly crowded lift.

Zack yawned as he got into the elevator of the Ministry of Magic. He had been there well into the night, and came in early this morning to get a head start on the pile of work that was on his desk. They had been so busy since Voldemorts death, that he barely had time to breathe. He just now had enough time to go up to the Department of Msteries to help them with some prophecies. They had been swamped with work as well, while for the past six months or so, most of the Ministry of Magic wrokers had been under the imperius spell. Fortinately, Zack had been away on vacation when the Ministry had fallen, so he didn't receive the news until he arrived back at the Stratford house with sister, Ava the following day.
He was an intern then, now Zack was the Vice Minister, a very important job, and somehow he got stuck doing all the paperwork and dirty deeds around the Ministry, for Kinglsey was far too busy with other things outside the Ministry, like raids and arrests and appointing members to the Ministry to those postions that the preacessor had deceased. He tapped the bottom of his shoe on the floor of the elevator, as paper memos flew above his head.
The Elevator slowed down as it got to the Atruim. A few people merged into the elavator, namely one Maia Bisset, an Unspeakable. Zack gave her a bright smile. "Ah, Maia, I was just about to head up to your level. It seems that one of your intrens are having problem with a prophecy, and she said you hadn't arrived yet. I am sure you will be able to fix the problem, but alas, you know the drill. I must go where I am beckoned too." he gave her a small chuckle.

Maia found herself next to Jack Stratford, the new vice minister who had been floating around the ministry a lot lately. He seemed to be a busy guy, but Maia saw quite a lot of him, as he visited most of the departments, but the Department of Misteries quite a bit. The preophecies seemed really to have piled up, and Maia and her co workers had almost more than the could handle.
That was why the Department of Mysteries, like a couple other busy departments, had hired several interns--usually there was one or two bobbing around, training to become and Unspeakable--but they were quite careful who they gave an internship, as they wanted to be fairly sure that the intern would eventually become an Unspeakable.
Lately, though, they seemed to have been acting out of sheer desperation to catch up on their work. The just-out-of-Hogwarts interns hadn't been exactly up to standard lately, but Maia knew they would just have to deal with them until there was more training time, and the ministry had restored order.
Jack spoke.
"Ah, Maia, I was just about to head up to your level. It seems that one of your interns are having problem with a prophecy, and she said you hadn't arrived yet. I am sure you will be able to fix the problem, but alas, you know the drill. I must go where I am beckoned too."
Maia gave a little laugh as well, rembering how he was back in Hogwarts, always a couple years older, always looking quite, quite in charge. "Yeah, I know how it is--you've got to be pretty busy right about now, huh? All of this restoring the wizarding world, UWW stuff?"

Trying his best to suppress a yawn, Zack made room for the new pack of people that had entered the Elevator seconds before the doors shut them selfs in the tiny little box. He glanced at a couple of people he knew, nodding them a 'hello' and continued talking with Maia. No doubt about it, he was busy, they had piled loads on him in such a short period of time, he would be lucky if he even went home tonight. There would be no rest for Zack Stratford until the wizarding world allowed it. It was not only Zack whom had his work cut out for him, everyone at the Ministry had to take double or even triple sifts to even catch up on their work.
"Ah, yes Maia. I am a busy man, going to and fro. You would think that the Ministry would make sure they trained the interns before they set them loose, but alas desperate times call for desperate measures." Zack was sure Maia knew what he meant, and gave a little laugh. "They aren't screening these people like they used to, not like when we were an interns here." Granted, Zack had a push in the right direction with the help of his father, a very highly influence of the Ministry back in his day. The Stratford name brought fear in the hearts that knew of the family, and still does to this day. Zack had even seen a few people cringe at the name as he was being introduced to them as their Vice Minister at the end of last week.
"So Maia, have you heard any news about Harry Potter or any from Hogwarts on how the reconstruction is going? I am sure the students and staff will be happy once the transformation has been complete so they can resume school there." He had always enjoyed Hogwarts, even when he was a student there. He had followed in his older sisters, Ava's, footsteps. A prefect and head boy to boot in his house of Slytherin. He knew the stigma that went with a that particular house, which had given him more restrictions than opportunities in his life, but all the same he was a great leader, and he now had a chance to prove that to everyone.
"UWW is making headway though. I am sure it will be up and running in no time. How has your department been coming along with your portion of the UWW preparations?" a loud 'ding' and the calm, soothing voice of a women could be heard faintly above all the chattering. "Ahh, I believe this is our floor Maia."

You would think that the Ministry would make sure they trained the interns before they set them loose, but alas desperate times call for desperate measures. They aren't screening these people like they used to, not like when we were an interns here."
Maia nodded, with an amused smile. "Yeah--things can change a lot in two years-- I suppose; for me, at least." She gave a shrug. "I had to go through two months of training and such, just to become an intern. But they really have to be careful with the Department of Mysteries--some of the information up there...you don't want it to fall into the wrong hands. You know."
She bit her lip and winced at the memory of thousands and thousands of smashed prophecy records, littering the floor of the Hall of Prophecy, imagining how much more terrible that could have been if He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had known about the origin and singnificance of a prophecy...
"Oh, UWW is doing quite well in the DoM, Zack. Posters and spirit everywhere, we have a couple of the interns selling drinks and snacks for the profit of the UWW movement, and it keeps them out of the way, provides the Unspeakables with food, and helps UWW a little, too."
Maia smiled and Zack, realizing that he seemed quite nice, and concerned for his world, the wizarding world...nice for a Slytherin. Productive, too...nice, maybe for anybody. He was a cool guy, even if the Ravenclaws had never thought much of his house.

Thousands of witches and wizards would love to have been in Zack's shoes, but he alone had surpassed the interns and long nights in the office, helping out when ever he could. Kingsley was a very friendly person, as Zack had the privilege of working with him last year when had protected Scrimgeour. Now he would be working quite closely with the member of The Order of the Phoenix, since Kingsley had been presented Minister of Magic. The sound of someone clearing their throat brought Zack back to the present, looking over at Maia.
He must say she was just as beautiful as she had been in school. Maia had been a few years younger than he, and in a different house, but that didn't stop Zack from noticing her. Her brown curly locks accented her face nicely. Zack's blue eyes wondered her as she talked. "Yes, things have change in the last two years for me as well. These interns must have showed real potential, for usually, the Ministry does not hire just anyone." Zack's thoughts wandered to his friend from Hogwarts, a fellow Slytherin, but a nasty little past. He wasn't even called for a interview, but Zack had been.
"I am glad to hear that UWW is being supported in your department. I really love some of the candy they sell, really a delight to have. Some departments, however, haven't been to keen on helping out the UWW fund." he narrowed his blue eyes toward a wizard whom stood behind Maia. "It does also keep the interns away." he chuckled once more. He smiled at Maia, looking into her eyes. He sighed tiredly, "Oh, if things keep up I'll have to hiring my own intern, if not just to bring me coffee and file paperwork." he flashed Maia a smile.

Hmm. Was Zack looking at her? Or was he noticing her looking at him? He always had looked... well. Regal, maybe? Something like that... yeah, he was a few years older, but it didn't quite matter. He was nice and..erm, regal. They might be good friends oneday. (Because, you know, a vice minister, "regal" as he was, probably wouldn't want to.... well, she was merely an Unspeakable.)
Maia nodded at his talk of interns, thinking. "Yeah--erm, I guess, if they have potential, they're just, er, hiding it. I swear, yesterday one of our new time turners was broken by Li Sbellnik, the newest intern? I hear his father works in the Floo Network, and I've got to say, not to insult, that probably was the way he got his internship. He's done nothing but break magical objects and eat snacks, so far."
Twirling a brown curl around her finger, Maia smiled as Zack said: "I am glad to hear that UWW is being supported in your department. I really love some of the candy they sell, really a delight to have. Some departments, however, haven't been to keen on helping out the UWW fund." he narrowed his blue eyes toward a wizard whom stood behind Maia. "It does also keep the interns away."
"Oh yeah?" Maia asked, the smile on her face turning to a slight frown, crinkling her eyebrows."Which departments?" She couldn't imagine anyone would want the wizarding world to stay, in chaos, as it was. But of course, there would still be angry Death Eaters, as there were last time, who would want their master back. Though it was an ugly thought to think about, she realized that in ZAck's job, he was probably thinking about that every day.
"You want an intern to bring you coffee, Zack? You can have mine, though I warn you--he ay drink it it before it gets back to you, but whatever you please, after all, you are the vice minister!" She shrugged, with a grin, and wondered, once more, if he was noticing her looking at him.

“Li Sbellnik. Ahh, yes, I sat in on his interview. He seemed quite good in a devious sort of way. I am sure that his father had a hand in getting his internship as well, as seeing he was part of the officials that hired him. You can imagine what he done to get his son in here though.” Zack gave her a knowing smile.
He watched her talk about the UWW, and was surprised that she didn’t know which departments where not supporting the cause. A glimmer set in his blue eyes as he watched him, she was beautiful , Zack couldn’t deny that. Zack hadn’t had a girlfriend since he was out of school. His job had been his first priority, his social and love life had become second. But for her…he could make plenty of time to spend with her.
“Ah, I don’t think I want an intern like that. I believe I could do all that by myself.” he chuckled. “I wouldn’t mind someone of your caliber. Someone as..” Zack watch yourself, you’re at work. He thought fast, “Umm, smart as you are.” He couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of her though, her beauty attracted him to her. He must venture up to the Department of Mysteries more often.
Wondering if she would ever go for someone like Zack, he took a sip of his coffee that he had almost forgotten was in his hand. It was cool now, and Zack almost spit it out. He pulled out his wand and tapped it to the cup. A moment after, the cup of coffee was steaming once more.
“Nothing like cold coffee to wake someone up.” he smiled at Maia."So Maia, have you had time to catch up on any Quidditch? I haven't the slightest clue who is winning the tournament. I've been wanting to go to Hogsmeade to one of the pubs to check out the standings, but I've been swamped here." Looking at Maia, something in his eyes glimmered. Perhaps is was the game of Quidditch, or that he was standing beside Maia.

Maia nodded, rolling her eyes. "Well, I suppose, people are rather desperate for jobs for now. They really need the money, lots of things to buy and restore, new wands new houses, school supplies, renovations... I don't know." She shrugged, looking Zack up and down once more, telling herself that it was Kay to thing he looked "regal," as long as she didn't say anything.
Zack was the youngest vice minister in at least a decade, he was brilliant, he was tied up with tons and tons of work, much more than an ordinary vice minister would have, what with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's death. He probably wouldn't have time for a girl as ordinary as nineteen year old Maia. She was the youngest Unspeakable in her department, and she wasn't one of the higher positions...whereas, he...
“Ah, I don’t think I want an intern like that. I believe I could do all that by myself.” Zack's voice jolted her out of her thought. “I wouldn’t mind someone of your caliber. Someone as.. Umm, smart as you are.”
She laughed, blushing. Had he, perhaps, wanted to say more than "smart" on that subject? She couldn't be sure, but from the red look of his face, and from the "um" that had punctured his sentence, maybe, just maybe, he had. "Well, erm, I work among many. If you ever need a break at Leaky (Cauldron) or something... I could take a break then, too. Maybe."
She blushed harder and wondered what she had just said. Had she just said she would take a firewhisky break with him, if he pleased? "You know, for business! Of course, just, if you're ever lacking....strictly for Ministry matters, would Leaky be.....right. If you wanted to...talk about bussiness..." She would gladly then have hit herself over the head with a sledgehammer, but instead, spoke abruptly about the topic of Quidditch that he had brought up.
"No...I haven't much had time to think about Quidditch lately, the Department of Mysteries has more than merely interns to worry about! Though, of course, I imagine you know all about that, Vice Minister that you are.

Zack never meant to let it slip that he thought of her in any other way then professional, but it was just something about her that made him want to be with her off the clock as well. He saw her blush, thinking it was cute, he laughed softly, winking at her. “I haven’t been to the Leaky Cauldron in months, maybe we could go get a fire whiskey or two after work. We could see how the Quidditch world cup is doing and uh, you know, talk more about work, or course.” A touch of hope in his voice.
Maia was something else, and he didn’t want to jeopardize their business relationship with a personal one, but Zack just had to be next to her. “Maybe helping you with whatever this intern did will take up most of my day.” he winked at her, a glimmer in his eye. Not that we minded it taking up most of his day, he had gotten ahead this past weekend with his paperwork, and he would enjoy some company.
“So what do you except these intern did wrong? Maybe breaking another prophecy, heaven forbid. If that happened, I might just have to sack them myself.” he laughed, knowing a lot of people would be happier if they didn’t have interns to rescue every five seconds, most even would probably not be so far behind in their work, he know he wouldn’t be.
“Oh, yes, I know they have had a bit of trouble here lately. I believe though, that maybe before too long, it will die down and you won’t have as much work as you have been, hopefully. Hopefully it will die down for all of us.” Zack knew that it would a fairly long time until that happened, but until then, what is the harm in being hopeful.
"So, since we are so packed full of work, when do you think we could have that firewhiskey?" Zack was hoping it would be soon, he would rather talk to her in a nonprofessional setting, where they both could be themselves and actually talk about something more than work, if she was willing.

“I haven’t been to the Leaky Cauldron in months, maybe we could go get a fire whiskey or two after work. We could see how the Quidditch world cup is doing and uh, you know, talk more about work, or course.” Zack said, in that way of his.
"Yeah," Maia agreed, straightening up and shaking her head, getting a couple stray curls out of her face, letting them fall over her shoulders instead. "Definitely. I'm dying to know if Britain will do better this year than the last two or three--it's a shame they bombed even when the Cup was being hosted here, in England. Perhaps we'll finally beat Czechoslovakia this year, at least. They always seem to be the ones to take us out of the running.'
She fell silent, wondering if Zack had played Quidditch back when he was at Hogwarts. She had spent most of the quidditch matches talking with her friends, except for the Ravenclaw ones--and she had never noticed him in the matches Slytherin had played against her own house. But perhaps he had been there, and just went whizzing by too fast for her to catch his face.
Maia herself had never been much of a Quiddditch player. She would goof around on a broom with her friends on a Saturday, and she liked watching the World Cup, but she herself had never done any real broom sports. (A couple of her friends played Broom Polo, but she had never been quite into that, either.)
“Maybe helping you with whatever this intern did will take up most of my day.” Zack told her, maybe more of a question than a statement. There was a suggestive touch in his voice, and Maia grinned, pretty sure she knew what it meant.
"Maybe it will, Mr. Vice Minister," She replied with a shrug and an eyebrow raise.
“Oh, yes, I know they have had a bit of trouble here lately. I believe though, that maybe before too long, it will die down and you won’t have as much work as you have been, hopefully. Hopefully it will die down for all of us.” Zack said, and Maia certainly hoped so. Everything had been stressful and hectic lately, even the lifts were taking abnormal amounts of time, and there were constantly people running in and out of the Ministry. It was exhausting.
"So, since we are so packed full of work, when do you think we could have that firewhiskey?" Zack asked. Maia grinned, glad that he had even answered what she had said at all, let alone the positive manner in which he had.
"Maybe today, at lunch? Or in your break, Zack? I could take the same one as you, and yeah, fifteen minutes isn't too long, but, it'd probably be long enough to discuss, uh..." She cleared her throat, "Long enough to discuss business."

Zack’s heart raced as she talked about Quidditch. A beautiful girl and she knew her Quidditch. Zack almost kissed her right there in the lift, but refrained from it because of the over crowdedness. Someone would go to the Profit, telling them of his new ‘girlfriend’. He just couldn’t put Maia into that until he knew she really wanted that.
“Maybe it will, Mr. Vice Minister," Shills rain down Zack spine as she said this. Something about her pointing out he was Vice Minister gave him an eerie feeling. Trying not to think of it, Zack continued with Quidditch. “I hope Britain does loads better than they have been. I don’t want to hear the bickering in the Departments anymore.” Zack rolled his eyes as he thought of all the Quidditch induced fights he had to break up. “Department of Magical Games and Sports are the worst, you can imagine.”
Smirking, Zack looked at Maia. “At lunch today, sure. I would love to meet you for...um, business.” Zack gave her a knowing smile. Zack had hoped for longer than 15 minutes with her, but he would take as much as he could get. He stood beside the Unspeakable, unable to take his eyes off of her. He failed to hear the voice of the lift say ‘Ninth Floor, Department of Mysteries.’
People filed out, pushing their way around Maia and Zack. The occasional “excuse me,” and “Sorry Vice Minister” were unheard of the 20 year old, as he was still watching the girl beside of him. Don’t rush Zack. Remember last time. Clearing his throat, he then realized where he was. “Oh, Maia. I believe this is our stop.” Offering his arm for her to hold while he walked her to the door of Mysteries. “Shall we see want damage your intern had done?”

“I hope Britain does loads better than they have been. I don’t want to hear the bickering in the Departments anymore. Department of Magical Games and Sports are the worst, you can imagine.” Zack spoke more about the World Cup, and Maia's suspicions of his own Quidditch Playing in school went considerably higher. Plenty of boys liked watching it, of course, but Zack had the muscles of a Quiddicth player, and of course...the vice minister.
"Such a lovely biase towards England, I suppose," Maia agreed, thinking to herself that a full debate about the world's teams wouldn't be all that bad. She added, with a grin "Can't say I think too poorly of that." She shrugged. "And lunch today would be....perfect, Zack. I can't wait." She smiled, wondering how on earth he could possibly have said yes...but of course, it was merely for 'bussiness.' They would discuss interns and UWW and Mr. Shacklebolt and the Department of Mysteries. And that would be it.
Maia heard faintly the sound of a magically conjured voice say "Department of Mysteries," and she looked up at Zack, rather disregarding it. He pulled her out into the hall however, saying something about the stop. Maia couldn't quite hear what he had said, she was staring into his eyes.
Before long the other witches and wizards had cleared from the corridor and it was just them two. "I..I..like you, Zack," But the last part was whispered so quietly that Maia could barely hear it herself, let alone Zack.

Zack watched the girl beside him, her touch sending chills up his arm and down his spine. She had captured his heart just by her eyes alone, which now, he was still looking into. He forced a smiled on his face, but his lips wanted to do something else. He had to force himself not to lean down to kiss her, for it seemed that her lips where calling to him. But he continued to smile at her, hoping his true feelings weren’t to easily noticeable.
His muscles tensed as they continued to stare into each others eyes. It was quiet around them now, all the pushing and pulling had stopped, and now it was only the two of them in the hallway. Zack took a deep breath, going to say something, when she beat him to it. She spoke so softly, he barely could make out any of her words, but it was a good thing he was able to read lips, for if her didn’t it would be terribly embarrassing for the both of them if he asked her to repeat it.
Giving her a inviting smile, Zack’s blue eyes filled with compassion. This time, he did lean over, just inches away form her lips, her lips that he so wanted to touch with his own. His eyes still watching her eyes, and with the utmost calm in his voice, he replied, with almost the same audibility that Maia had confided her last thought in. “I like you too Maia.”
Just then, as he bent lower to kiss her, he felt another presences near the tow of them. He looked up, and saw a wide-eyed witch staring back at them both. Zack cleared his throat at once. In a normal pitch, but with so many emotions behind it, he spoke to her, knowing that the witch was listening in on their conversation now. “Ah, yes, we will talk about this at our business lunch? “ he said, looking at Maia with a knowing smile.

Those eyes were penetrating. And the stare emitted by them , if by given by anyone else, would have been long and awkward, but by Zack...it was right. Their eyes met for not too long, too short, or even the right amount of time...it didn't feel as though there was a legnth at all, no right time for there to be...the eyes, though. Lovely.
In fact, the face entirely, was lovely. Perfect. THe warm eyes, full cheeks, rich, invitig smile, made by those lips of his, curved upwards in a perfect arch...they created this gorgeous expression--handsome, but focused, determined. Once more, perfect.
"I like you too, Maia."
Maia then smiled deeper than she had before ever in his presence, and the thoughts that floated between them needed not to be spoken. They could be communicated perfectly in...it was a perfect time for....a kiss.
But for some reason, Zack pulled back before they had even begun. Hurt, Maia looked up just in time to see a woman beginning to scurry away. “Ah, yes, we will talk about this at our business lunch? “ He said, grinning.
God...what a grin... "Oh! Yes, yes, the lunch...I'll meet you at lunch Zack, and we'll...talk." The last word was half whisper, half murmur. "Yeah. Well then. Er, let's go check out the...erm...interns."
OOC: Lols. It's like they're back in school. Anyway, shall we start the lunch thread?
